10/3/08: Say Halo, Wave Goodbye
Smack-talking videogame heavyweights that we are, we thought it was about time we put those Bungie types in their place by crushing them in their weekly Halo 3 Humpday Challenge. And so four of Rare's toughest, brawniest, most hardcorest veterans took them on at their own game, literally, and came away swathed in righteousness and glory. Wait a minute, what? We lost? For God's sake.
Turns out two months of sporadic lunchtime training wasn't quite enough. At 5pm GMT on March 5th, the Rare squad went into action; three rounds of ugly mayhem later, it was all over and things hadn't gone entirely to plan. You can find all the gory stats and downloadable assets on Bungie's site:
Game 1: Team BR on Guardian

Meanwhile, James from the Rare delegation had this to say on the final result: "Yes, we lost, but we went down fighting and we did the golden 'R' of Rare proud. They have seen off better men than us and to walk away with even a single round to our name means our heads are held high. Plus, if I'm being cheeky, we edged it 185 to 172 on aggregate… which I'm not.
I fear the flaming head of retribution." |
